Check out these clips of Kara’s first attempts at eating “real” food! (Though I’m not sure soupy rice ‘cereal’ counts as “real food”.) In any case, it was her first time eating from a spoon!

Here is a video of Kara taking her first bath in the baby tub. It was a little nerve-racking for mom & dad, but we all survived! We set up the tub in the kitchen on a table near the sink so we could both get to her easier (and, yes, we closed the curtains so no one could see our naked baby!!).

(And, YES, I know I sound like a goof-ball! I swear it doesn’t sound like that in my head…)

Hospital info for visitors

Below is some basic information about visiting us in the hospital. We plan to be there until Friday.

Don’t want to come to the hospital? No problem! We’ll have plenty of time at home to entertain guests during the next few weeks.

Location:

Parrish Medical Center
951 N Washington Ave
Titusville, FL 32796

Main line: 321-268-6111

[MAP & Directions]

Come in the main hostpital entrance, past the gift shop, and take the elevators across from the concierge desk. We will be in a suite up on the third floor.

There is a small waiting area with a phone to call our room. You will need to be buzzed into the maternity ward by a nurse.

Visiting Hours:

The hospital visiting hours are 7am to 8pm. You are welcome any time we are ready to have people! That will vary greatly depending on how tired we are, when the baby nurses, and any testing that needs to be done. Please call ahead to see if we are ready for your visit.

Generally, please plan to visit for no more than 15 minutes.

Quiet hours are after 9pm. You will need to show ID and sign in at the front desk if you come in the hospital after 9pm.

Only Tim, Jen, and the baby will be staying overnight in the hospital.

The Baby:

The baby may or may not be in the room. Except for tests and such, the baby can be in the room all the time. If she isn’t in the room, you can likely find her in the nursery with the other babies. They have LOTS of windows you can look through to see her.

Presents & Gifts:

We are blessed to have so many friends & loved ones our lives! We had three baby showers and got tons of clothes, books, toys, decorations, gift cards, and an array of baby ‘equipment’. Right now, we have everything we think we need for the baby. There is no need to bring or send anything!!

That said, we know some of you do still want to contribute to our new family. We will definately be able to use some gift cards to Publix to keep Jen fed as she nurses the baby. We plan to get diapers from Sam’s Club, so Walmart gift cards will ensure we stay well stocked.
